智九终于离开少年感化院，相依为命的爷爷却在此时离开人间，而他的生活中竟突然多了一个年轻妈妈孝胜。孝胜在十七岁生下智九后便抛弃他，当他们再见面时，已经错过了彼此十几年的时间，陌生尴尬的母子俩，不知道如何赎回无法弥补的过去，而孝胜稚嫩不成熟的心理年龄，也不足以让她成为真正的母亲。此时，智九的小女友怀孕了，孝胜仿佛看见当年的自己。是日子太重？还是青春太轻？。Volker Schlöndorff transposes Bertolt Brecht’s late-expressionist work to latter-day 1969. Poet and anarchist Baal lives in an attic and reads his poems to cab drivers.
