在梦原国的国庆日时，本来是一片祥和的节日气氛。突然，天色为之大变，位于梦原海水下面的邪灵城里，邪灵王指示许多怪兽向故事世界发动袭击。为了避免国家受到破坏，梦原的统治者——波拉公主，派出了她的十二勇士，即十二生肖守护神来保护梦原国。守护神们各有各的性格和特点，他们在彼此协作中穿越时空，来到了被破坏的故事世界，找出邪灵，竟而恢复世界的原貌。在这些故事中，穿插了大量我们已十分熟悉的童话故事。像是《彼得潘》、《龟兔赛跑》、《灰姑娘》、《桃太郎》等。这些故事经过加工之后，成了这里的童话世界，既熟悉又有新意。 本片改编自池田仁男的同名漫画。。Fun-loving pug puppies, brothers Bingo and Rolly, have thrill-seeking appetites that take them on exhilarating adventures in their neighborhood and around the globe.
