裁缝小建（梁宏理饰）生活在北方的一座小城里，他的父亲患病在床，而父亲所在的工厂正经历转让重组的过程不再庇护她的工人，小建每日的工作无非修改衣服款式跟仿制名牌，直到一件警服的主人遭遇车祸而把警服遗落在他的店里。小建在一个雨夜穿上了这件警服，于是奇妙的事情发生了，他邂逅了美丽的音像店店员莎莎（曾雪琼饰），小建在完全的不同的身份里接近莎莎，试图在虚构的基础上和对方开始一段恋情。于是小建在裁缝的工作之外用另一重身份弥补逼仄生活的缺失，他在街上处理违章车辆贴补花用、他穿着警服教训曾经看轻他的人，同时躲避着真警察们的身影…… 本片是导演刁亦男的处女作，由贾樟柯担任顾问。。In the dog days of 2020, a year in which every hour brought a new horror, a group of old friends stumble across a very different flavor of terror.
